Op dinsdagavond 12 november, de avond voor het bezoek van de extreemrechtse politica Marine Le Pen organiseert Anti-Fascistische Actie Nederland een demonstratie in Den Haag onder het motto: Het probleem heet racisme!
Op woensdag 13 november komt Le Pen van de Franse extreemrechtse partij Front National (FN) naar Den Haag. Ze komt op bezoek bij Geert Wilders om te praten over hun samenwerking in het Europees Parlement. Marine Le Pen nam het FN over van haar vader, Jean Marie Le Pen, die bekend is om zijn, op zijn zachts gezegd, eufemistische uitspraken omtrent de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Marine Le Pen doet haar best de partij een ander imago te geven door te focussen op de economie en de Franse soevereiniteit. Maar de ideeën van de partij zijn niet veranderd. Het antisemitisme is slechts vervangen door islamofobie en de partij is nog steeds extreem nationalistisch.
Maar het probleem van racisme in Nederland gaat verder dan het racisme van politieke partijen als de PVV en het FN. Afgelopen maand klapten drie oud-agenten van korps Haaglanden uit de school over het racistische politiegeweld wat veel voorkomt in de Haagse Schilderswijk. Zo vertelden zij dat discriminatie, intimidatie en mishandeling aan de orde van de dag zijn. Het ging zelfs zo ver dat iemand die willekeurig werd aangehouden in het politiebureau arbeidsongeschikt is geschopt.
De Nationale Ombudsman Alex Brenninkmeijer kwam deze maand met een rapport over racisme in Nederland naar buiten: ”Het politieke tij in Nederland is racistisch”, aldus Brenninkmeijer. ”Dan heb ik het niet over één partij maar over de stemming in Den Haag. Die is tegen buitenlanders.”
Kortom, het is tijd om een sterk geluid te laten horen tegen racisme en intolerantie! Het probleem is racisme en als de politiek het verzaakt om daar iets aan te doen, en zelf volop mee doet aan de racistische tendens in Nederland, moeten we zelf in actie komen om een einde te maken aan racisme. Kom dus naar Den Haag en laat je horen!

They told the media that discrimination, intimidation, and abuse regularly occur. It went so far that someone who was randomly arrested and held at the police station was kicked so hard that he was rendered incapacitated and unfit for work.
The National Ombudsman Alex Brenninkmeijer brought this problem out in the open with a report about racism in the Netherlands. His conclusion: “The political climate in the Netherlands is racist,” according to Brenninkmeijer. “I’m not only talking about one party, but the attitude in The Hague. It is opposed to foreigners.”
